SOPHIE

Sophie is one of the most elaborate of RV´s books. Around one hundred drawings are printed on transparent paper, creating a sequence of images that articulate and modify themselves as the viewer browses the pages.

The book contains a rich imagery based on classical myth and landscapes, combined with the artist´s personal symbology.
As with Vacuum - Veroni´s previous artist´s book- Sophie avoids the use of text. Its Colophon, written as an e-mail, lays out some co-ordinates from which the viewer can approach the "reading" of this tale by images.

Sophie is an edition of 15, with 120 pages laser printed on Transmarque paper of 110 gsm. The pages are held in a portfolio box bound in gold or silver paper with the title embossed on the front. Sophie es uno de los libros mas elaborados en la obra de RV. Más de un centenar de dibujos fueron impresos sobre papel transparente creando una secuencia de imágenes que se articulan y transforman a medida que el espectador recorre las páginas.

El libro contiene un rico imaginario de mitos y paisajes de la cultura clásica que se alternan con símbolos personales del autor.

Como en Vacuum, su producción anterior, RV evita una vez más los textos. El colofón, transcrito a modo de e-mail, sugiere algunas coordenadas para poder "leer" este relato hecho en imágenes.

Sophie es una edición de 15 ejemplares, con 120 páginas impresas en laser sobre papel Transmarque de 110 grs. El libro está contenido en una caja-porfolio forrada en dorado o plata con el título gofrado en el frente. Su tamaño es de 22 x 21 cm.
