La Princesa is an extremely ambitious work, in spite of its size. It combines digital photographs and poetry in an attempt to cover, page by page, all those things that dominate our life: the things that nourish us, such as love, beauty and friendship; those that victimise us, like madness and fear; or those, such as time and destiny, that remain ambiguous, favouring us or opposing us, according to their whims.

La Princesa was written in Glasgow, during the first weeks following Veroni’s arrival to the city. Rivers, parks and neighbourhoods also play their subtle role and are a constant presence throughout the book. Through the photographs we can see the artist’s fascination for Glasgow’s architecture, so different to that of his native Argentina. Through the texts it is clear that this is, above all, a love story: a celebration. It is good to know that neither Madness nor Fear, Destiny nor Time, have opposed the realisation of this beautiful work.

La Princesa es un libro ambicioso a pesar de su tamaño. Recurre a imágenes y poesías en un intento de enumerar, página tras página, a todas aquellas cosas que dominan nuestra vida. Aquellas que nos alimentan como el amor, la belleza y la amistad, las que nos victimizan como la locura y el miedo, o aquellas como el destino y el tiempo que por su ambiguedad poco sabemos si se presentan a favor o en contra.

La Princesa fue escrita en Glasgow durante las primeras semanas en que Ral llegó a esta ciudad. Ríos, parques y barrios cumplen también su papel y mantienen a lo largo del libro una presencia constante. Por las imágenes se puede ver la fascinación que Ral siente por la arquitectura de la ciudad, tan diferente a su Argentina natal. Por los textos queda claro que esta es ante todo una historia de amor, una celebración; y es bueno saber que ni la locura ni el miedo, ni el destino ni el tiempo se interpusieron a su realización.
